Overview:
Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) is designed to help employers provide effective training to employees who are exposed to hazardous chemicals, as required by the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Hazard Communication Standard. 
Purpose:
The goal of hazard communication training is to explain any reinforce the information presented to employees through the written mediums of labels and material safety data sheets and to apply this information in their workplace. Labels and material safety data sheets will only be successful when employees understand the information presented and are aware of the actions to be taken to avoid or minimize exposure, and thus the occurrence of adverse effects.
Topics:


Identify the four (4) different components of the Hazard Communication Standard.


Describe the rights and responsibilities regarding hazardous chemicals and workplace safety.


Understand the labeling requirements and how to read labels for hazard precautions.


Recognize basic information available on Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and understand how to read them.

Course Materials (If it applies): Registered participants will receive presentations and material in PDF format and Certificate of Completion.
Audience: Target audiences include workers, consumers, transport workers, and emergency responders. 
CPM Academy is certified by the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR) and the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) as a Continuing Education Provider.
Participants will be able to obtain hours of accredited continued education.
