Arm Balance Workshop | 日曜日, 11. 10月 2020

Arm balances are some of the most fun, exciting, and challenging poses of the yoga practice. This workshop is for all levels.



This workshop focuses on the fundamentals in arm balances of: Crow, Crane, Baby Grasshopper, Grasshopper, 8 Angle Pose, Hurdlers Pose. In this workshop you will build solid foundations and show yourself that you are stronger than you think!



Contrary to popular belief, balancing on your arms does not mean having strong arms and putting all your weight on them, but rather learning to shift your weight, engaging other muscle groups (like your core), and counter-balancing so your arms hold the least amount of weight possible. Some call it the art of weightlessness.



We will work on developing a true sense of our core and how its location, stability and strength relate to our arms and hips. We will explore techniques to find our fullest range of motion through a optimal skeletal alignment and muscular engagement for deep, isometric hip strengtheners first through a vigorous, vinyasa class emphasizing the cornerstones of successful arm balances: Core, Open Shoulders and Balance. Next, we will move on to practicing drills for strategic wrist movement & placement while learning a shoulder prep routine. Finally, we will explore arm balances in even deeper detail with practice.
