East Meets ACE | Japan | 土曜日, 22. 9月 2018

East Meets ACE is American Coaster Enthusiasts' 2018 international trip to Japan! ACE is planning a tour of Japan, beginning on September 22 (date of arrival with evening event check-in). The entire tour will extend to Wednesday, October 3. Return flights and/or travel plans to elsewhere should be planned for Thursday, October 4. A week-long option that will end earlier and include all of the parks in the Tokyo area, will be available for those who don't have as much travel time available (depature date for week-long option would be Sunday, September 30).

For those joining an ACE international trip for the first time – WELCOME! You picked a good one!

The trip package will include transportation via motor coach or train from the host hotels to all of the host parks, admission to the parks and hotel accommodations. Daily breakfasts at the hotels and some meals at parks also may be provided. Other meals are the responsibility of individual attendees. Airfare to and from Asia is the responsibility of individual attendees.

ACE international trips typically involve at least two payments. A deposit in early 2018 will be required when signing up for the trip, followed by a second payment several months later. The preliminary estimated cost of the trip is more than $3,000 (around $2,000 for those choosing only the Tokyo week option). Travelers requiring a single room are expected to pay an additional supplement of $700 to $1,200 depending on the length of trip chosen. A better estimate for the trip cost will be provided when specific event information is released, but the exact amount of the final payment may still not be known at the time of trip registration, as there may be fluctuations in the currency exchange rate and some prices are estimates until the final contracts are signed.

ACE’s international trips have often become memories of a lifetime for attendees in years past. The 2018 trip will be ACE's first to Japan in 30 years. Japan has long been one of the leaders in roller coaster thrills and amusement parks, so there will be much to see and do. The trip will include visits to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, Fuji-Q Highlands, Nagashima Spa Land, Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo Dome City, Tobu Zoo, Tokyo Joypolis, Yomuiriland and other parks in the Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka areas. When possible, the larger, more popular parks are being planned for weekday visits to minimize the crowds.

The host hotels and specific parks to be visited will be announced at a later date. Trip planners are trying to use only two or three hotels in Japan so that hotel check-ins and check-outs are minimized.
